We warmly welcome you and thank you for joining us. Let's begin with a brief introduction and get to know each other. To promote relaxation and foster connections, we will start with an icebreaker activity. For the next 45 minutes, we will combine a meditation warm-up with gentle and intentional movements. Focusing on our breath, body, and mindfulness, we will guide you through a soothing journey. To refuel our bodies and continue our creative flow, we will provide healthy snacks and refreshments. During this time, feel free to express your thoughts or feelings from the previous session on a shared board or verbally. Next, we will introduce experienced dancers to guide us through a choreographic process. By reviewing our journal entries and translating our emotions into movement, we will work individually or in small groups to create our own choreography. After this invigorating session, we will take an hour-long lunch break to recharge and relax before our next session. We will then move into group sharing through a round of performances from participants or small groups and end with final observations and closing remarks.

The objective of this movement restshop is to provide participants with a holistic experience that combines physical activity with mental well-being. By integrating a meditation warm-up and mindfulness journaling practice, the workshop aims to promote a sense of balance, self-awareness, and overall wellness.

Lunch is brown-bag. Please bring a yummy choice you enjoy!

REST Fest will provide a free parking pass to attendees at the check-in table by the entrance of the Dougherty Arts Center.

Our EThos

Pay from the Heart community shows are on Thursday, April 4th!

Give what you can and come receive what you need.

Eclipse myths tell of celestial dragons and humans fighting for the light. Before the sky goes dark in the day, let's light up Austin with parades, live music, dance, haptic art, dinner in the dark, and practice RESTiprocity.

RESTiprocity Solidarity: We won't rest until everyone can rest!

We appreciate weather donations for our neighbors under the stars!

ie: socks, shirts, hammocks, cooling cloths, reusable water bottles, and sanitary items

Thank you for believing in homegrown art!
All proceeds directly pay unhoused artists to create and curate art shows with our producer, Fisterra Projects.
