TBX [ Toolbox Series ] provides specialized workshops for creative artists & residencies for choreographers to enliven their personal practice and expand their professional network. We uniquely craft each TBX session for artists and participants and each culminates with a theorist happening to further our mission as artist/citizens.

[ gaga ] Olivia Ancona
Olivia Ancona | Based in Israel/Europe. She trained with the Northwest Dance Project, Jefferson Dancers, and the Portland Ballet, and is an alumnus of the Juilliard School. In 2010-2012 Olivia was a member of the Batsheva ensemble. She danced and helped to co-found Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar’s company L-E-V from 2012-2014, while freelancing internationally.[ gaga ] Omri Drumlevich
April 2017Born and raised in a village next to Jerusalem, Israel. Joined Batsheva Ensemble after graduating from the Jerusalem Academy For Music and Dance High-School in 2010. Started teaching Gaga in 2011. Joined the Batsheva Dance Company in 2012. As a dancer in the company produced and created for the annual "Batsheva Dancers Create" project while creating as a freelance alone and collaborating with different artists.

Neil draws from his Samoan and New Zealand roots to create innovative dance works that reach across social, cultural, and generational barriers.

January 2017Idan Sharabi was born in Israel and graduated Thelma Yellin and The Juilliard School before he danced in Netherlands Dans Theater and Batsheva Dance Company. He was chosen to create for NDT Upcoming Choreographers 10′ and has won The Zeraspe Award 06′, Copenhagen International Choreography Competition 2012 & 2014, The Mahol Shalem International Competition 13′, and The Hannover International Choreography Competition 2014.

Blazek is one of 4 certified instructors in the US and is a Dance MFA Candidate at CalArts. She has performed for Pilobolus, Shen Wei Dance Arts, Anoukvandijkdc, and has been hosted by BodyTraffic among others.

October 2015The Contemporary Edition of TBX allows selected dancers to work closely with NYC based French choreographer, Manuel Vignoulle with a daily company schedule and open rehearsal. Vignoulle was a dance artist with both Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve (Switzerland), and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet (New York) where he worked with inspiring choreographers such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Hofesh Shechter, Ohad Naharin, Benjamin Millepied, and Alexander Eckman among others.

August 2017Born and raised in Minnesota, Berit was trained through the Minnesota Dance Theater and went on to St. Olaf College where she received a B.A. in Biomedical Studies and Dance. After graduating in 2005, she returned to St. Paul, MN and joined the newly formed TUDance Company where she performed for the next six years. She was first introduced to Gaga after seeing Batsheva perform in Minneapolis in 2008 and took an instant curiosity to the suppleness and strength.

May 2015The Activist Edition of TBX hosts the inspirational, Jesse Zaritt- masterful teacher, choreographer, and mentor. This workshop will investigate relationships between activism, performance and choreography, addressing the following questions: How does dance matter now? What constitutes an activist gesture? In what ways is art making already a form of activism? Our studio work will draw on established models that bring together performance and social change.
